*Update: You can still access the Library as usual (provided you wear a mask and maintain social distance) with the BCF implementing the Restrictions Exemption Program.*
A Public Health Emergency was declared on Wednesday, September 15th, and restrictions implemented starting on Sept 16th & 20th. Libraries are required to follow capacity and operating restrictions, which means that starting today:
1. Capacity restricted to 1/3 fire code occupancy
2. Patrons must be with household members only, or 2 close contacts if they live alone
3. Masks and 2 metre physical distancing required
4. All adult indoor programming is paused
Do you have some local Drumheller history, wisdom, or stories to share? Write it down in our community journals! You can check one out with your Library card and add your words or stories or recipes. Once completed, the journals will be typed up and bound into books.Keep reading...
*EDIT: As of August 3rd, masking is now optional, but strongly recommended in the Library*
We've decided that for everyone aged 2 and up, masks will remain mandatory in the Library for now. Masking is still considered by public health authorities as a way to prevent spread, especially indoors and around people you don't know. With many folks from higher risk groups visiting the library regularly, we'd like to maintain this level of extra precaution for the time being. Hopefully Alberta will continue to show low numbers, and we'll be able to safely lift our masking policy soon. Thank you for your understanding.
